Identification & Behavior: ~19.5 cm (7.6 in). The White-throated Earthcreeper has rufous-brown upper parts and a rufous tail. It has a buffy supercilium and a decurved black bill. The throat is whitish grading to brownish towards the rest of the underparts. The flanks are rufous-brown. It forages in sparse Andean scrub with interspersed boulders. It is similar to the Buff-breasted Earthcreeper but is distinguished by having rufous wings and tail, browner underparts, and by ranging at lower elevations.
