Identification & Behavior: ~39 cm (15.3 in). The Mealy Parrot is all green with a whitish tinge to the upperparts. It has a dusky scaling effect on the back of the neck. The outer end of the primary flight feathers is dusky-blue. It shows red areas on the wings, but not on the shoulders. The tail if green with a broad terminal lime-green band. It is similar to the Yellow-crowned Parrot but is distinguished by the lack of a yellow crown, a whitish color of the back, larger size, lack of red on the shoulders, and broad fleshy orbital skin. Status: The Mealy Parrot is uncommon and widespread in Amazonia where it is known to range up to 1200 m along the foothill of the Andes. It also occurs in Co, Ec, Br, and Bo.
