Identification & Behavior:~16 cm (6.2 in). The Varzea Schiffornis is cinnamon with dusky wings. Some individuals have gray restricted to around the eyes, while others have a gray top of the head and even an entire gray hood. It forages in the understory of seasonally flooded forests, often near water. It is similar to the larger canopy dwelling Cinnamon Attila, which does not have gray on the head.
Status: The Varzea Schiffornis is uncommon and widespread in Amazonia. It also occurs in Co, Ec, Br, and Bo.
