Status: The Striated Antthrush is rare in lowland Amazonia where it favors Terra Firme Forest. Short-tailed Antthrush and Barred Antthrush range at a higher elevation along the east slope of the Andes. It also occurs in Co, Ec, Br, and Bo.
Name in Spanish: Rasconzuelo Estriado.
Sub-species: Striated Antthrush (Chamaeza nobilis rubida), J. T. Zimmer 1932. N of Amazon River in SE Colombia, E Ecuador, and NE Peru; presumably also in immediately adjacent W Brazil.
(C. n. nobilis) Gould 1855. S of Amazon River from E Peru (S from Huallaga Valley) and S to extreme NW Bolivia.
Meaning of Name: Chamaeza: Gr. Khamazë= on the ground, one that lives on the ground. nobilis: L. admirable, famous, renowned, noble, high-born.
