Identification & Behavior: ~11.5 cm (4.5 in). The Pearly-breasted Conebill is bluish-gray above and powdery-gray below. Both sexes are similar and have a sharp conical bill. It forages generally in pairs in taller and mature river-created second growth along large rives. It is very similar to the Bicolored Conebill but is distinguished by having powdery-gray underparts and by foraging in taller and more mature river-created second growth. The female Hooded Tanager is larger and has buff breast and yellow mandible.
Status: The Pearly-breasted Conebill is rare and restricted to river-created habitats along large rivers and river islands in northern, Loreto. It also occurs in Co, Br, and Bo.
