Status: The Russet-crowned Warbler is common in the mid and understory of montane forests of the east slope of the Andes at elevations ranging between 1500 -2900 m. It also occurs at similar elevations (chapmani) on the west slope of the Andes south to Cajamarca. The Russet-crowned Warbler also occurs in Co, Ec, and Bo.
