Identification & Behavior: ~16 cm (6.2 in). The Yellow-browed Tyrant has gray or yellowish-gray back and crown. The wing coverts secondary flight feathers are edged with white. It has a broad yellow superciliary and bright yellow underparts. It forages in early successional river created habitats and scrub often near the ground. It is superficially similar to the Lesser Kiskadee but is distinguished by a smaller size and by having a broad yellow superciliary.

Status: The Yellow-browed Tyrant is a rare Austral migrant to extreme southeast Peru. Most sight records come from the department of Madre de Dios. It also occurs in Co, Br, and Bo.

Meaning of Name: Satrapa: L. satrapa, satrap= Persian viceroy. Satrapes, satrap= Old Persian kšathra pavan country protector. icterophrys: Gr. ikteros= jaundice-yellow, ophrus, ophruos= eyebrow, brow.
