Olivaceous Flatbill (Rhynchocyclus olivaceus)

Identification & Behavior: ~15 cm (6 in). The Olivaceous Flatbill has olive-green upperparts. The wing coverts and flight feathers are fringed with yellowish but do not compose true wing bars. The breast is faintly streaked with olive and yellowish, and grades to more yellow toward the belly. It has a pale eye-ring. The bill is bicolored and very wide at the base. It forages in the under and midstory of the interior forest in Amazonia. It is similar to the Yellow-olive Flycatcher but is distinguished by larger size, pale eye-ring, more upright position, and by foraging in the forest interior.

Status: The Olivaceous Flatbill is uncommon and widespread in Amazonia where it is known to range up to 1200 m along the foothill of the Andes. It also occurs in Co, Ec, Br, and Bo.
