Identification & Behavior: ~19 cm (7.4 in). The Thrush-like Wren has dusky brown upperparts mottled and scaled with dusky. The underparts are whitish heavily spotted with dusky. It forages at forest edges and tall second growth. It is very similar to the closely related Fasciated Wren but their ranges do not overlap.
Status: The Thrush-like Wren is fairly common and widespread in Amazonia where it is known to range up to 1500 m along the foothill of the Andes. It also occurs in Co, Ec, Br, and Bo.
Name in Spanish: Cucarachero Zorzal.
Sub-species: Thrush-like Wren (Campylorhynchus turdinus hypostictus), Gould, 1855.
Meaning of Name: Campylorhynchus: Gr. kampulos= curved, bent and rhunkhos= bill. turdinus: L. turdus= thrush; turdinus= thrush-like.
