Identification & Behavior: ~9.5 cm (3.7 in). The Johnson’s Tody-Flycatcher has a yellow-greenish mantle and a rufous head. The wing coverts are blackish with two yellow wing bars. The chin is white. The underparts are mostly yellow. The iris is dark. The bill is black. It forages in the under-story of humid montane forest and also in tall second growth.  It is similar to the Rufous-crowned Tody-Flycatcher, but their ranges are separated by the Marañon River.

Status: Endemic. The Johnson’s Tody-Flycatcher is uncommon in montane forests of the east slope of the Andes on the south side of the Marañon Valley at elevations ranging between 1850-2900 m.

Name in Spanish: Espatulilla de Johnson.

Sub-species: Johnson’s Tody-Flycatcher (Poecilotriccus luluae), Johnson and Jones, 2001.
