The New World warblers are a group of small, often colorful, passerine birds which make up the family Parulidae. Most are arboreal, but some, are primarily terrestrial. Most members of this family are insectivores. Several species are long distance migrant, particularly those which breed in northern latitudes where males
are different from the females, at least during the breeding season. In contrast, resident tropical species, which pair for life, show little if any sexual dimorphism. There are a 10 genera and 24 species of the family Parulidae known to occur in Peru. Photo: Masked Yellowthroat ©Victor Bustinza.
